π An Autumn Reflection Exercise: Which House Would You Choose?
I came across this series of landscapes with houses and felt inspired to turn it into a short psychological reflection exercise.
Look at the images and choose the house where you would most like to spend a few autumn days.
Try not to search for the βrightβ answer or choose an image simply because it seems the most beautiful. Instead, notice which place you genuinely feel drawn to.
Now consider what may have influenced your choice.
1. A Secluded House
Perhaps you currently need more quiet, a sense of safety, and some distance from other people and everyday demands.
Ask yourself: does solitude help me recover, or am I increasingly using it to avoid dealing with something?
2. A House by the Water
This choice may reflect a need for calm, clarity, and time to think. Perhaps what matters now is not distracting yourself from what is happening, but giving yourself enough time to process it without rushing.
3. A House During a Storm
You may be drawn to the feeling of shelter: the difficulties have not disappeared, but there is a place where you can wait for the storm to pass.
What gives you a sense of stability in real life when circumstances become overwhelming?
4. A House in the City
Perhaps you would like to be surrounded by people and observe life around you while still preserving your own space.
Not everyone needs solitude in order to rest. Sometimes the quiet presence of other people can be restorative, without any obligation to communicate or become involved.
5. A House Surrounded by Everyday Life
This choice may reflect a need to return to simple, familiar things: a daily routine, household tasks, food, movement, and ordinary conversation.
When life contains a great deal of uncertainty, everyday structure can become an important source of stability.
6. A House Among Flowers
Perhaps you currently lack vivid experiences, beauty, physical comfort, or activities that bring pleasure in themselvesβnot because they are useful or lead to a particular result.
7. A House on the Shore
You may be drawn to the opportunity to slow down, spend some time in silence, and temporarily stop trying to make decisions.
Sometimes we need a pause not to find an answer, but to recover our strength before returning to our questions.
8. Houses Surrounded by Open Space
Perhaps you currently need more freedom, a change of surroundings, and an opportunity to see your life from a broader perspective, beyond your usual routines and concerns.
Sometimes a new perspective emerges when we step outside our familiar path, even briefly.
This is not a diagnostic test, and the images do not have universal interpretations. The same house may evoke entirely different feelings in different people.
The number of the image matters less than your answer to the question:
What am I missing right nowβand how can I bring at least a small part of it into my autumn?
