About me

My name is Evgenia Kogay. I am a counseling psychologist and psychotherapist, working with adults, couples, and families.
Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation that is difficult to change using familiar methods. A professional perspective helps to understand what is happening more accurately, to see the causes of recurring difficulties, and to determine exactly what can be changed.
For me, psychotherapy is a collaborative effort in which a person can better understand themselves, their feelings, and their needs, take a fresh look at their life situation, and find ways to cope with difficulties that are suitable specifically for them.
I have been in private practice for over three years. I conduct individual, couples, and family consultations online worldwide and in-person in South Korea. I work in both Russian and English.
Professional Training
I have completed professional retraining in psychological counseling and psychotherapy and continue to study modern approaches to individual and family psychotherapy.
I regularly undergo supervision—professional support for my practice, which helps analyze therapeutic work and maintain its quality.
I have been in personal therapy for over seven years. I consider it, along with education, supervision, and continuous professional development, an important part of a psychotherapist's training and responsibility.
In my work, respect for the individual, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and attentive regard for the client's experience are especially important to me.

Education and Professional Development
The primary focus of my work is transactional analysis. It helps to explore how life experiences, relationships, and formed scripts continue to influence a person's self-perception, choices, and relationships in adulthood.
Depending on the situation and the goals of therapy, I integrate methods from cognitive-behavioral therapy, the Gestalt approach, systemic family therapy, and attachment theory.
This approach allows for examining difficulties from different angles: considering not only the current problem but also the associated feelings, beliefs, habitual ways of reacting, life experiences, and relationships with other people.
I do not use universal solutions and do not limit myself to the framework of a single method. The direction and methods of work are selected taking into account the person's personality, their history, situation, and therapy goals.
If necessary, I use metaphorical associative cards as an additional tool for exploring internal experience.
